“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
et cognoscetis veritatem et veritas liberabit vos.

Dear parent,
Thank you for the opportunity to share more about Tyndale Classical Institute.
We founded the Institute with a deep desire for our children to grow into the kind of men and women we ourselves could only dream of becoming.
In our pursuit of the best education for them, we turned to the wisdom of history. This led us not only to a time-tested and ancient educational model but also to the profound conviction of the 16th-century Protestant Reformers—that every human being bears the image of God and is called to love Him through His Son, by the power of His Spirit.
This universal call to Christian discipleship is what drives us. It’s why we offer after-school classes centered on the core of our curriculum. We want all children—whether homeschooled, or attending private or public schools—to have access to this form of education.
We invite you to consider joining us in this important mission.
Jon Ryan Fennell, Headmaster & Teacher

Tyndale Classical Institute carries on the educational tradition of our ancient Christian forebears by offering a full-orbed Classical and Christian education—rooted in the classical minds of Western antiquity and illuminated by the light of Christ and His Gospel—so that young men and women may grow to love God and bear the fruit of His Holy Spirit.
-
“Education” originates from the Latin word “educare,” meaning “to bring one up.” We believe that education is a tool God provides parents to raise His children in the Christian way of life, classically encapsulated by the term “Paideia.” Our pursuit of Christian Paideia is ultimately a culture of people who live in preparation for eternity by learning to know and love the Triune God.
-
Over the past 200 years, the world has largely forgotten the educational method that established the Western Christian Paideia. The Institute aims to reclaim this method for our children to help rebuild Christian Paideia. This requires a strong dedication to the classical liberal arts tradition, a Christ-centered moral education, and instruction that properly aligns our loves with God.

Our Mission
Tyndale Classical Institute’s mission is to provide a Classical Christian education that honors the Biblical mandate for parents to raise their children in the fear and instruction of the Lord. Through a Christ-Centered and Classical curriculum, we cultivate a wonder for eternal beauty and a love for God’s truth, preparing students to live abundantly in Christ Jesus. The Institute aims to guide students toward the beginning of all true knowledge—the fear of the Lord—so that they may grow in wisdom, faith, and joy.
Our Vision
Tyndale Classical Institute’s vision is that Christian families in Mississippi would be awakened to the truth, goodness, and beauty of Jesus Christ through a robust Classical, Christian Education.

What makes Classical Christian Education unique?
Timeless Material
Classical Christian Education engages students with time-tested works of literature, language, and philosophy. From the writings of Homer to the theological insights of C.S. Lewis, students are shaped by the wisdom of the past, learning to discern truth, beauty, and goodness through a curriculum that spans the great minds of Western civilization.
Timeless Methodology
The Classical Christian method equips students with the liberating tools of learning known throughout history as the liberal arts. This ancient, robust model of education imbues students with capacity to learn for themselves, and to grasp not just what to think, but how to think.
Christ-Centered
A Classical Christian Education is rooted in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Every subject, from science to literature, is understood as various domains of the Lord’s sovereign and good reign. Students are primarily trained in virtue; subject matter is only used as a means to that end. This philosophy of education prepares students’ souls for life-long, joyful service to God, regardless of their chosen professional or domestic path.

“If God spare my life, ere many years I will cause a boy that drives the plough to know more of the Scripture, than [the pope] does.”
- William Tyndale, 1494-1536
William Tyndale’s outlawed work of translating the Hebrew and Greek Bible into English in 1526 changed the course of history. His courageous pioneering paved the way for the growth of protestant Christianity and laid the foundation for Truth in the West.
Tyndale’s heart for the “boy that drives the plough” constitutes our vision for South Mississippi. We believe that the truth of God’s Word is not too high and lofty for any child in our community. A Classical Christian Education equips every student with the sword of the scripture and the ancient, timeless tools of learning to make them into pioneers, followers of Tyndale’s footsteps.

Christian Virtue as our Goal.
Tyndale Classical Institute’s goal is to cultivate virtue in our students, not merely to impart subject knowledge. We believe the ultimate purpose of education is to shape virtuous individuals who possess the tools of learning, equipped to accept the call of beauty toward the truth of God’s goodness.
