Tyndale Latin Club at Laurel Christian School

$275.00

Embark on your own journey into the language of the ancient world! Join our new Latin Club this fall to study the root of modern languages spoken by more than 800 million people worldwide. Discover the hidden fabric of Latin woven throughout English—from scientific and medical terminology to the words we use every day.

WHY LEARN LATIN?

  • Master English: English has deep roots in Latin. By learning a single Latin word, you can unlock the meaning of many English words derived from it, especially in scientific and medical fields of knowledge. Latin study builds vocabulary, strengthens grammar, and develops a deeper understanding of our own language.

  • Learn the Romance Languages: French, Italian, Spanish, and other Romance languages also have their roots in Latin. Learning Latin gives students a strong foundation for studying these modern languages.

  • Access the Ancients: Encounter the great works of Western Civilization in their original language. Latin opens the door to ancient history, literature, and culture that are at the foundation of our civilization. Learning Latin enables students to appreciate the eloquence of the ancients and engage with their unfiltered wisdom in the light of God’s word.

CLUB GOALS:

  • Have fun! Engage in learning Latin without even realizing it.
