Latin Grammar: Level 2 for Ages 12–15 (Fall '26 Pay)
Class Overview
Upper Latin Grammar: Level 2 is a continuation course of Upper Latin Grammar: Level 1 and continues building students’ fluency in the Latin language. In this class, students will learn the following components of Latin grammar: Adjectives, grammatical gender, positives, comparatives, superlatives, participles, ablative of time, dative of possession, deponents in the first, second, and third persons, adverbs, and pronouns.
Students will continue their Latin reading. Uniquely, this year, students will finally begin following the expansive tale of Egbertus throughout the year, which constitutes the second have of their Grammar 3 reader. Our goal is to immerse students in the language so that they can acquire fluency, not just an understanding of the Latin grammar system. We’ve already seen the fruit of this method, and we hope that your student joins us in the journey!
This class if for students who joined us in fall and spring of 2025 and 2026. Students should expect to spend time complete self-paced exercises at home daily to prepare themselves for our weekly classes. Language fluency takes consistent and frequent practice.
Course Objectives
Complete Picta Dicta Grammar 3, Lessons 16–30.
Read chapters 16 through 30 of Gesta Egberti, all in Latin.
Cultivate a deeper love for gaining fluency in an ancient language.
Study Latin adjectives (including positive, comparative, and superlative forms)
Study grammatical gender
Study latin participles
Study ablative of time
Study dative of possession
Study Deponents
Study pronouns in all cases.
Course meeting time: Wednesdays from 10:50–11:50 a.m.

Course prerequisites: Successfully complete Upper Latin Grammar: Level 1 (Or students must have completed through Picta Dicta Grammar 3, Chapter 15.)
